Editorial Policy

How GameVui123 chooses topics, checks claims, names writers, dates articles and handles corrections and commercial links.

The promise behind the site

This page describes how GameVui123 is made. It is here so that you can decide how much weight to give anything else on the site.

The drafting process

  1. The writer collects what they already know and marks the parts they cannot support.
  2. Those parts are checked against a primary source, an operator document, or direct experience.
  3. What survives step two goes into the draft. What does not is cut.
  4. A second person reads the draft for claims that sound firmer than the evidence behind them.

Dating and updates

The date you see is real. A tidy up of wording leaves it alone; only a change to what the piece recommends moves the modified date, along with a note saying so.

How the site earns

A few of the links here make us money. That covers the running costs and stops well short of buying a kinder paragraph around them.

Requests to soften a verdict are declined, and we keep them on file. More than one has become the subject of its own paragraph later.

The names on the work

Each piece is signed, and each signature is a link to everything else that person has written. A house byline would let a weak article hide; a real name does not.

Mason Ellery, Lead reviewer and editor. Mason has picked apart more casual games than he can count, and says plainly which ones are worth your time.

Talitha Nkrumah, Mobile and puzzle games writer. Talitha plays on the commute and writes about whatever keeps her thumbs busy that week.

Dimitri Vance, Card and retro games writer. Dimitri learned rummy before he learned to read, and now writes the rules nobody explains clearly.

Picking subjects

Topics come from three places: reader mail, our own notes, and gaps we notice while reading what else is published. Nothing gets written because a keyword tool suggested it.

Corrections

Corrections go to [email protected]. Include the address and the sentence. Anything factual is fixed without argument. Anything that changes what the article recommends gets a dated note underneath, so the change is visible.
