About GameVui123

What GameVui123 is for, who writes it, how claims are checked, and where to write when we get something wrong.

About this blog

GameVui123 publishes when there is something to publish. There is no schedule and no filler, and every piece stays in the archive even after we have changed our minds about it.

This site grew out of a spreadsheet. Mason Ellery had been tracking Honest guides and reviews for casual, mobile and card games for years, mostly to stop repeating the same mistakes, and it turned out other people wanted the same answers.

What is filed here

  • Casual and Mobile Games. Quick games built for a short break, from phone to tablet.
  • Card and Tabletop Games. Rules, variants and strategy for classic card and tabletop games.
  • Puzzle and Brain Games. Daily puzzles, logic games and the ones that actually hold up.
  • Retro and Arcade. Older genres and games worth revisiting, and why they still work.
  • Guides and Tips. How to pick a game and get better at it, without the padding.
  • Games. Broader gaming culture, habits and the hobby itself, beyond any one genre.

Each piece sits under exactly one heading. Readers arriving from search mostly land in casual and mobile games, card and tabletop games and puzzle and brain games, so those sections get looked after first.

How an article gets made

We write from notes taken while doing the thing, not from a summary of other summaries. Where we are unsure, the page says so in plain words.

We are not neutral about quality, but we are honest about incentives. Where money is involved, the page says so.

The full process, including corrections and commercial links, is set out on the editorial policy page.

Who pays for this

The site pays for itself through a small number of outbound links. It has never been enough to change what gets written, and the day it is, we will say so here.

Who is responsible for this

There is no house byline here. Each piece is signed, and each signature leads to everything else that person has put their name to.

Mason Ellery, Lead reviewer and editor. Mason has picked apart more casual games than he can count, and says plainly which ones are worth your time.

Talitha Nkrumah, Mobile and puzzle games writer. Talitha plays on the commute and writes about whatever keeps her thumbs busy that week.

Dimitri Vance, Card and retro games writer. Dimitri learned rummy before he learned to read, and now writes the rules nobody explains clearly.

The limits of this site

There are questions we routinely decline. Anything that depends on facts only you can see, and anything where being wrong would cost you real money on our say so.

Corrections

Point at the sentence. Write to [email protected] or use the contact page. Factual errors are fixed quickly, and when a correction changes the conclusion of a piece we say so at the foot of the page rather than editing quietly.
